About

Norwell Education Foundation was conceived to serve as a conduit and filter for private donations to support public school initiatives.

Teachers submit requests each Spring, and the Board of Directors reviews grant requests from each school to decide which meets the Norwell Education Foundation criteria.

The purpose of the Education Foundation is not to provide “bricks and mortar” type funding, such as when certain expenses or projects aren’t approved under the school budget, but rather, to inspire teachers to try new and innovative educational programs which do not fall under traditional school budget funding in the first place. These grants help teachers bring their lessons alive for students.

Teachers:

  • The 2012 grant review process begins in May
  • Grant requests are due by the end of April vacation
